Join in the growing excitement
We are excited about the growing enthusiasm in our classes. Last month’s class answering common legal questions was well attended and there was lively audience participation with our two legal experts. If you were unable to attend that event, you can find materials by following this link.
We plan to build on the momentum of engaging class content by bringing you the following two classes next:
Dementia and Moving to a Care Setting, and
Brain health: How to live well as you age, led by a highly respected neuropsychologist.
You’ll learn how to prepare for some of the challenges of aging. Don’t miss these thought-provoking presentations. Please join us for these free classes and bring your questions!
Dementia and Moving to a Care Setting
Here at START Senior Solutions we receive calls for help that sound like this: “I am unable to continue providing at-home, around-the-clock care any longer.” “How do I get my spouse who is living with dementia to agree to move?”
On Wednesday, September 4th, START staff will teach the importance of having a plan and preparing for the practical and emotional process of a move.
Maintaining a good relationship with care partners is possible and we can demonstrate the skills you can use to help make a smooth transition.
This is a free event. Everyone is welcome. Mark your calendar today!
When: Wednesday, September 4, from 10:00 to 11.30 a.m.
Where: Normandale Hylands United Methodist Church

Brain Health: Living Well as We Age
Have you ever forgotten a name or just couldn’t come up with a word that was on the tip of your tongue? If you're an older adult, it's natural to worry and wonder -- do I have dementia?
On Saturday, October 5th, Terry Barclay, PhD., a neuropsychologist with Health Partners, will teach us about the importance of cognitive testing and what we can do to maintain a healthy brain.
Why is brain health important? "Maintaining a healthy brain is the key to maintaining independence and thriving in older life," says Dr. Barclay.
